Springfield Armory Echelon 4.0C COA 9mm 4" w/ Aimpoint COA Red Dot Black
Springfield ArmoryFactory New Springfield Armory Echelon 4.0C COA 9mm 4" Pistol with Aimpoint COA Red Dot – Black
The Springfield Armory Echelon 4.0C COA 9mm semi-automatic pistol combines the modular engineering of the Echelon platform with a compact 4-inch barrel, black polymer frame, and factory-installed Aimpoint COA closed-emitter red dot sight. Built around Springfield's innovative Central Operating Group (COG) and featuring the dedicated Aimpoint A-CUT optics mounting interface, this factory-new configuration offers an integrated pistol-and-optic package. The Echelon 4.0C COA includes a flush-fitting 15-round magazine and an extended 18-round magazine.
Model Background: Springfield Armory introduced the original Echelon pistol platform in 2023 as a modern striker-fired handgun built around modular construction, interchangeable grip components, and a self-contained serialized operating chassis. The compact Echelon 4.0C retains the fundamental engineering of the full-size Echelon while incorporating a shorter slide, 4-inch barrel, and reduced grip dimensions. Introduced in 2026, the Echelon COA series represents Springfield Armory's collaboration with Aimpoint, pairing select factory-machined slides with the Aimpoint COA enclosed red dot optic.
Factory-Installed Aimpoint COA Optic: One of the defining features of this pistol is the included Aimpoint COA 3.5 MOA closed-emitter red dot sight. Manufactured with a durable 7075-T6 aluminum housing, the COA uses an enclosed optical design that protects its emitter from exposure to rain, dust, and environmental debris. The optic incorporates a 15x15mm viewing window, 12 brightness settings consisting of eight daylight and four night-vision-compatible levels, and a manufacturer-rated battery life exceeding five years from a single CR2032 battery. The optic is also rated for submersion to 25 meters.
Aimpoint A-CUT Mounting System: Unlike standard Echelon models equipped with Springfield's Variable Interface System (VIS), this configuration features the dedicated Aimpoint A-CUT mounting interface. The A-CUT incorporates a full-length dovetail, front engagement hook, and rear locking wedge to secure the Aimpoint COA directly to the pistol slide without an intermediary adapter plate. This integrated mounting arrangement positions the optic low on the slide and allows the factory iron sights to co-witness through the optic window.
Hammer-Forged Barrel and Melonite Finish: The Echelon 4.0C is equipped with a 4-inch hammer-forged steel barrel featuring a corrosion-resistant Melonite finish and a 1:10-inch rifling twist. The billet-machined steel slide also receives a Melonite finish and incorporates front and rear cocking serrations. These features are complemented by the pistol's blacked-out, serrated front and rear iron sights and factory-integrated Aimpoint optic.
Central Operating Group: At the heart of the Echelon platform is Springfield Armory's serialized Central Operating Group (COG), a self-contained stainless-steel chassis housing the primary fire-control components. Unlike traditional designs that rely on the polymer grip frame as the serialized firearm component, the Echelon's modular construction centers on its removable operating group. This architecture permits compatibility with appropriately configured Echelon grip modules while preserving the pistol's basic operating system.
Compact Ergonomic Frame: This model features a black polymer small grip module with molded adaptive grip texturing, ergonomic contours, and interchangeable backstrap capability. The compact frame incorporates an integral accessory rail and ambidextrous operating controls. Its textured grip surfaces, undercut trigger guard, and sculpted frame profile distinguish the Echelon design from conventional polymer-framed pistols.
Striker-Fired Operating System: The Echelon 4.0C utilizes a striker-fired, short-recoil-operated, locked-breech action chambered in 9mm Luger. The pistol incorporates a trigger safety and internal passive safety mechanisms. Its compact slide assembly uses a captive recoil spring system, while the frame provides ambidextrous slide-stop and magazine-release controls.
Dual-Magazine Configuration: The factory package includes one 15-round flush-fitting magazine and one 18-round extended magazine. The flush magazine maintains the pistol's compact grip dimensions, while the extended magazine incorporates additional capacity and a longer grip profile. This two-magazine configuration is standard for the Echelon 4.0C COA model.
